The football team opened their season September 8 at Bryant University, losing a hard-fought battle against a talented Division I program. The Wolverines fell behind 14-0 on an offensive touchdown and blocked punt for a touchdown, but roared back with 19 unanswered points: two running touchdowns - a 5-yard blast by Malik Lee and a 40-yarder by Shane McClosky - and an interception for a touchdown by Dan Cardillo. It proved to not be enough, as Bryant scored the go-ahead touchdown, regaining the lead 20-19. Using this disappointing loss as a learning experience, the Wolverines head to Brunswick to play Bowdoin this Saturday at 3:00pm.
