A Full Days Work

The BA football team had an early start today as they kick the season off. With a full day of practices the team worked hard. Coach Marcella is excited about the upoming season and had good things to say about his team. "I'd say we have some decent size, athleticism and speed. Pre-season camp is all about the coaches
putting the players in position to make plays. We never seem to have
enough time to evaluate them but we always manage to put a competitive
team on the field."

The football team will start of their season with a home opener against Curry College at 1:00 on September 12th. Playing for Curry are recent BA alumni Phillip Bigelow ’10 and Patrick Hickey ‘10.

Here is another great link with a bit of video regarding Victor Cruz '05, and his breakout pre-season game for the Giants.

His hometown paper also had some space on their site for Cruz.

Also getting a bit of press this week- James Nixon '07 over at Temple, where he is on the Watch List for the inaugural Paul Hornung Award for the most versatile player in college football.

Jordan Murphy '10 is getting ready for his freshman year at Bethune-Cookman University, and got a nice write up in his local paper.

In just a couple of weeks we'll be bringing you news on this year's class of Bridgton Academy football players- so stay tuned.

Victor Cruz '05 Puts On A Show

Victor Cruz '05 had a heck of a pre-season game last night against the Jets, pulling down six passes for 145 yards. Certainly helps his outlook for making the final roster.

A good piece on ESPN.com today about his performance.
