The football team had a nice end to Parents Weekend with a big win over St. Anselm's College with a score 42-35. It was quite the shootout between the two teams on a great afternoon. The Wolverine Defense played very well capitalizing on turnovers from the hawks and Bridgton Academy offense had a very productive day on the ground as well as through the air. Bridgton Academy finished with a winning home record of 2-1.
On offense Kevin Bumpus (Bridgewater, MA) went 6 for 12 passing with nine rushes for 25-yards. He also tallied a touchdown for the Wolverines. Daryl Shuler (Peekskill, NY) had a total of 155-yards. He had 16 rushes for 115-yards and 40-yards for receiving and one touchdown. Jacob Grills (Niantic, CT) had a total of 125-yards and three touchdowns. One was passing and two were rushing.
On defense Troy Moore (Worcester, MA) had eight tackles for the day, five solo and three assisted. Derek Karr (Littleton, MA) had a big day with four solo tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery for a 26-yard touchdown. Sir-Tay Jackson (New Rochelle, NY) had five total tackles, a fumble recovery, and an interception for 70-yards. AJ Marsiglia (Berlin, CT) also had a very productive day making plays all over the field.
After a short week of practice the football team will travel to Merrimack College this Friday October 15th to play at 1:00 P.M.
